He's a Flake

It's been sooo long since I've been to Bloggerland. I have been MIA for over 2 months. Hopefully I can get back into the swing of things. I'm about to pick up the third ornament of Little House Needlworks Ornament of the month, but I'm having a dilemma, hopefully you can help. I have two pieces of fabric to choose from. A light blue gray, and an dyed piece of linen called Thyme. It is a gray green color. Which do you think I should use? Also, I don't have the required threads for the tree, "Spinach", I would like to use a DMC thread, does anyone have any suggestions as to which green I could use?
Thanks for your help, and Happy Stitching,

Hillery

  1. A great piece for getting back into stitching. I'd take the piece of fabric that seem to be best for the white thread to pop out a bit. And for the green, I don't know. Just take several greens and take the one that matches the picture best.

  2. I like the fabric pictured in the back, Hillery--just think the white will show up better on it. As for the Spinach replacement, just use the suggested DMC 319 alone or mix up a couple shades of green for a variegated look. I love this little guy--have fun stitching him!

  3. I agree with Brigitte, take the fabric that makes the white pop the most :o)
