Organizing and a Finish

My fifth Little House Needleworks ornament "Snowy Pines" is stitched!!! I really liked this one. I think is was how quick it stitched up for me. I also found one packet of beads that I own that work in these ornaments, the crystal ones. I know I have more beads, I just don't know where I put them....Aghh!!! I made the house a little darker blue to better match the color of my MIL's house, and used the lighter blue for the border.

My next project is to organize all this floss that has just been sitting here in this tote. I need to put them all on floss cards and fill another box with them. I have 4 boxes and will add one more. They are all DMC with just a couple of specialty flosses. I do have many duplicates. If I'd have been organized in the first place, I wouldn't have purchased so many doubles.

Off to twirl some thread....
Happy Stitching,
Hillery

  2. Your ornament looks great! I assume you're giving it to your MIL??? I'm working on Snowy Pines right now. I agree with you, it is a fast stitch. It's my fourth LHN ornament. I've really caught up this month!

I love Floss-A-Way bags for my floss storage (in pretty photo boxes from Michaels.) After trying bobbins and the Stitch Bow system by DMC I've found this to be the best for me. :)

  3. Snowy Pines is gorgeous Hillery. I'm totally diorganised when it comes to thread. I have three different storage systems and threads in lots of projects. It takes me forever to find the ones I need for a new project, and some just seem to dissapear until I buy a new one and then the original one turns up, so I have several doubles too. If only I would put them back when I've finished with them my life would be a lot easier. Sigh..............

  4. Snowy Pines is just beautiful, Hillery--I like your color changes so much!

Good luck with the thread organization--it will take a while, but will be well worth the effort!

  6. Love snowy pines, Hillery and the others you've finished. Need to get busy on mine. Good luck with the organizing...I always seem to make bigger messes trying to organize and have to stop for some reason and leave it that way :( Did you get the wrinkles out of MW?

  8. I love your LHN ornament! I want to make that one now, too. Organizing floss - blech! I just did mine. It was a MESS! I have many colors that I have several of, and then I'm missing a lot. At least now I can see what I have and don't have. It's well worth the time to get it organized...just would rather stitch!
